Dive Charter Reviews: Conch Republic Divers
Conch Republic Divers is a “Must Dive” when you’re in the Keys. Their whole operation runs seamlessly and was a pleasure to experience. The operation begins with their online booking system, Scubaocity. I searched for my dives, dates and sites in their system and it put together an itinerary for me that fit my schedule. I checked out online and was good to go. My Dive Buddy also did the same. We arrived in Tavernier and easily found Conch Republic Divers at the marina just after the bridge on the right. We couldn’t miss the sign. The check-in process was friendly and efficient. Customary release forms were completed and C-cards were checked and photocopied. The dive shop offered us the chance to pick up the last minute items we needed and they were very fairly priced.
We boarded the 46′ Newton Dive Boat and were ready to dive. The Captain was extremely informative with his safety briefing and vessel orientation. The Crew was helpful and attentive to people with any questions or needs. Most of the divers we went with were repeat customers and spoke very highly of Conch Republic Divers. But there were new divers and a check out dive also going with us. For the most part the seasoned divers set up and changed out their own gear and the crew double checked it prior to diving. For the new divers, close attention and education seemed to be happening at every turn, throughout the whole day.
The boat was clean, well kept and in perfect order. There was ample room to sit and move about freely. The sun deck offered a birds eye view and nice breeze. The head was clean and in perfect working order. Fresh cold water was available all day long. We did not see any between dive snacks, but we had our own with us anyway.
The dive sites were filled with life and the briefings before very accurate and informative. The Captain and crew are on the spot for all divers entering and exiting the water. The ladders were roomy, secure and well manned.
Of all things we experienced, the underlying theme was safety. I personally felt that the Captain, crew and entire operation was looking out for us as divers. That to us is the most important factor when we dive. This is truly a boat for divers by divers. Don’t expect a massage or spa treatment here. Expect some of the best Keys diving from a class act operator.
