DT100 Facebook Page Gets Timeline Facelift

Facebook has begun to convert business pages over to their Timeline format.  Much like personal pages that converted to Timeline in late 2011, the new business pages will have a much more visual presence to them.  The jury’s still out on the reception that businesses and their viewers will give the new updates, but a cleaner, more streamlined look is always important, especially right before an IPO estimated to bring in $5 billion dollars in it’s opening days to Facebook.

Dive shops & operators should welcome the changes set to take place in the coming week.  Scuba charters, resorts, centers and travel professionals should use this period to update and revitalize stagnant and often ignored Facebook pages.  With more monies being spent in online advertising and promotion than even before, traditionally conservative dive operations need to get on the same page, no pun intended.

DivingTop100.com and their suite of dive industry related websites has jumped out ahead of the herd.  On the first day it was offered, DT100 embraced the changes and moved to complete the modifications for the new Timeline format on their dive business pages.  “We need to lead by example and help get the dive industry more social media savvy”, said  Don Perry, Creative Director at The Dive Agency.   “Most of the dive business owners already use Facebook or some other  social media to keep in touch with their grand-kids and family, we need to get them to keep in touch with their customers”.
